I am buying a new car and want to use my car as a trade-in. I have a 93 Grand Prix and it is in pretty rough shape. How would I find out how much my car is worth including the oil leak it has, some body damage. Please don’t say Kelly Blue Book b/c that seems to only apply to newer cars.

Can I trade in a car that’s worth 20 grand and use it to purchase a car worth only 12 grand? I own the car outright. I’m perhaps interested in downsizing to get better gas mileage than 17 city / 25 hwy.

I’ve heard that you need to replace the battery in hybrids every 3 or 4 years, which defeat the purpose of saving money on the gas because they’re so expensive. I’ve tried looking this up online and I read anywhere from 3 to 9 years. I wouldn’t mind replacing it after 6 or 7 years, but 3 is unexceptable. Does anyone know a cheaper but quality hybrid car? I’m really liking the Honda Civic Hybrid, but I don’t know many others. Any suggestions and/or advice? Thanks!
