When purchasing a new car, many times, as consumers we forget to think about its resale value. Not very important when first buying the vehicle, but the most important when trying to get rid of it. Here are two simple and easy ways to help maintain a higher resale value for your car, in order to help get the best deal when it is time to search for a new source of transportation.

One of the simplest is being a cautious driver, the less dents and scratches on a car the more money you can expect to get for its flawlessness. It is hard to stop some of natures accidents, like the typical dings you would get from leaving your car parked outside in the grocery parking lot, but using a car cover when a vehicle is going to be parked for an extensive amount of time, will greatly decrease the chances for any dings or scratches that may or may not happen.

The number one cause for vehicle depreciation are dents and scratches, so remember, taking care of the outside appearance is just as important as maintaining its performance. On that note, Vehicle Maintenance, should be just as important as how immaculate the outside of the vehicle looks. Neglecting any general service a vehicle may need, can lead to future problems with the vehicle and less money in your pocket when it is time to get a new one.

Following the owners manual and receiving the proper services at the correct interval can add a big chunk of change to the vehicles resale value, keeping records of the services performed, establishes to the next owner that the vehicle has been well taken care of and is up to date with all recommended services from the manufacturer.

There are several other ways to warrant a better resale value, but none seem as easy and none add a higher dollar amount to the resale value then these two ways. In conclusion, The better the outside appearance is, and a well kept record of all maintenances performed on the vehicle, are two of the simplest ways to ensure a higher resale value.
